Vehicle Details

K-Platform vehicles are ones based on the venerable K-Cars. These include the actual K-Cars (Aries / Reliant), the P-bodies (Sundance / Shadow), G-bodies (Daytona / Laser), A-bodies (Spirit / Acclaim). Also thrown in are the precursors to the line, the L-bodies (Omni / Horizon).

Most of these cars share large numbers of components, specifically in the available power trains. The differences are primarily sheet metal and interiors. The main advantage from the consumer's point of view are obvious: HUGE numbers of common components mean you can get parts from any wrecking yard. This is increasingly important as these vehicles age.
